Shipping rates on western American routes fell below the $2,000 mark

According to the latest data released by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, freight rates on the Shanghai-USA route fell below the $2,000 /FEU (40-foot container) mark, gradually returning to pre-pandemic levels. The freight rate (sea freight and Marine surcharge) for exports from Shanghai port to the basic port market of western America was US $1,902 /FEU, down 6.3% from the previous period.
