Ran Chengqi, director of the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office and Beidou satellite navigation system spokesman, said that in the first half of 2022, among the smartphones that applied for network access in China, 128 models supported Beidou positioning, and the shipments exceeded 130 million units, accounting for the total number of smartphones in the first half of the year.
In mobile phone map navigation, the average daily usage of Beidou positioning service has exceeded 100 billion times. In particular, Beidou's high-precision positioning service has entered Volkswagen's mobile phones, and lane-level navigation applications have been launched in 8 cities including Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Tianjin.
The world's first mobile phone that supports the Beidou-3 regional short message communication service has been officially released. Users can send short messages through Beidou satellites without changing cards or numbers and adding peripherals.
