The total import and export of services in the first three quarters increased by 18.2% year-on-year

According to the "Ministry of Commerce" website, from January to September 2022, my country's service trade will continue to grow. The total import and export of services was 4,472.27 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 18.2%; of which service exports were 2,148.02 billion yuan, an increase of 20.5%; imports were 2,324.26 billion yuan, an increase of 16.1%. The growth of service exports was 4.4 percentage points higher than that of imports, driving the service trade deficit to drop by 19.6% to 176.24 billion yuan. Mainly present the following characteristics:

Knowledge-intensive trade in services grew steadily. From January to September, the import and export of knowledge-intensive services was 1,864.87 billion yuan, an increase of 10.2%. Among them, the export of knowledge-intensive services was 1,043.02 billion yuan, an increase of 14.9%; the areas with faster export growth were intellectual property royalties, telecommunication computers and information services, which increased by 22.5% and 17.4% respectively. The import of knowledge-intensive services was 821.85 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8%; the field of faster import growth was insurance services, with a growth rate of 56.2%.

Imports and exports of travel services continued to recover. From January to September, my country's import and export of travel services reached 623.66 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4%. Excluding travel services, my country's import and export of services increased by 20.2% from January to September, of which exports increased by 21.7% and imports increased by 18.4%; compared with the same period in 2019, service imports and exports increased by 52.6%, of which exports increased by 68.3% and imports increased by 37.2%.
